WFI's 6th annual winter trip has come and gone again! This year 14 couples went to Ocho Rios, Jamaica the week of January 17th. As usual, the weather was sunny and hot. The Renaissance Jamaica Grande Resort was beautiful; there was a large variety of delicious food; and the tropical drinks were hard to put down. |
The days were filled with shopping, lounging around the pool, sunning on the beach, snorkeling, deep sea fishing and seeing local sights. The evenings were spent at theme dinner with special entertainment to match. Some took sunset cruises, and others went to the disco. A few spent time with the one-arm bandits. The resort had five restaurants, a beach grill, and eight bars - one was a swim up. So you can see we didn't have any problems finding something to eat or drink. The Renaissance Jamaica Grande Resort was within walking distance of two shopping centers. Outside our balconies we watched the cruise ships come in and leave daily. What a sight!
| The water was clean and blue. The mountainside looked like a star-studded sky at night. Many of us went to the famous Dunns River Falls, which was a great sight to see and be part of - Ya Man! Dunns River Falls is a must see if you go to Jamaica. My wish to the go up into the mountains came true when some of us went tubing down the river. The sight was spectacular. Even though this was a vacation, some of us drycleaners couldn't get work off our minds, so we had to visit the hotel laundry and drycleaning facility. It was very clean, but OSHA and EPA would have a field day there. |
